How lucky am I? My wife bought me a beautiful Decathlon road bike with a full Ultegra groupset for my 40th birthday in August 2016. I liked this bike very much. However it became apparent that the bottom brackets was not what one would expect of Ultegra. Eventually the bike was returned to Decathlon. I now need a bike. The plan? Contact someone who is patient, understanding, & appreciative of the need to get the most from the money available. I know Chris Lodge. Being a butterfly I do not ride during the winter months of the year. Therefore Chris devised a plan and went about sourcing the best componentry for my new road bike. It was never too much trouble to discuss the options available to me and where the best value was. In fact I began to enjoy the regular consultations. Over the next few months Chris began to pick out items which were finding their way into the sales at various suppliers. In essence I have a bike which I would expect to pay somewhere in the region of £4000 for for the princely sum of £2100 including build costs. All this is solely due to Chris’s encyclopaedic knowledge & attention to detail. Now I have something that is not only beautiful to look at but also stunning to ride. I never thought that I would enjoy riding as much as I do and this is largely in part to the creation of Mr Chris Lodge. I can only recommend that he work on your pride & joy for complete peace of mind regardless of whether it is a simple service or as in my case a full on build. Chris is quite simply superb. As I say, how lucky am I?

Great service. Chris gave me a lot of confidence. Discussed all the options, and changes that might be required in the future, rather than pushing to make the changes now. Will be going back when I look to upgrade or make replacements in the future.

Chris came to my house to and was able to sort three family bikes out on the spot that had various issues. While he was there I mentioned that I was thinking about indoor training (lockdown and weather!) and Chris was able to advise on all the equipment I needed and came back to set it up and gave me a crash course in using it all and getting the best from it. I wouldn't have had a clue!

The best bike mechanic I have ever had. Pure chance I found him my regular bike shop over run with new covid customers that had bought bikes ,so obliged to service their bikes. A blessing in disguise. Can’t recommend him enough. Very reasonable and perhaps most importantly the work is of a very high standard.

Makes me feel like a Pro Cyclist! I have four bikes and take my cycling fairly seriously, entering Triathlons and Sportif events throughout the year. My local bike shop was OK for standard services but I was looking for something more and count myself lucky to have been put on to Chris by a team mate. He comes to my house at times to suit me and is more like a Consultant than a mechanic with recommendations on equipment, position and event preparation. It's like being a Pro and having your own personal mechanic.
